If you want your clothes to be always washed thoroughly, it is necessary to maintain your washing machine, favorite helper in everyday life. There are three things that are important and you should take care about:
Never leave wet clothes in your machine
To prevent the formation of mildew, do not leave washed clothes in the drum by long time period. The mildew causes unpleasant smell, and for a long term, it can damage the interior of the machine.
Regularly perform the cleaning cycle of washing machine
Every 4-6 weeks it is important to preform the cycle of empty machine washing on high temperature (at least 60°C) with small amount of powder or liquid detergent. In that way you remove leftovers of your latest washing and you clean the washing machine. It is necessary to choose the longest possible process and add baking soda (in small amount) for drum cleaning.
Cleaning detergent drawer
Do you regularly clean detergent drawer: how often do you do that at the end or the beginning of a new cycle? Not how much you should! That is an extremely important step which guarantees the efficiency of powder and liquid detergent and clean and fragrant laundry. By cleaning the draw you prevent the formation of mildew on the inside of the machine, where you can find the detergent leftovers. Also you can pull the draw and clean it with a bleach (leave it for 10 min) and wash it thoroughly.
If clothes are very dirty you should put more detergent
Many people believe that you should put more detergent if the clothes are very dirty. That is definitely the biggest myth which achieves the opposite effect. If you put more detergent in your laundry than it is recommended, the program you choose can not wash all the detergent and can damage your clothes and cause allergic reactions on your skin. Follow the rules printed on the detergent and the washing machine.
Clothes do not wash well in a cold water
The second myth present by the people is that the clothes cannot be washed well in a cold water. That is false. Detergent for laundry washing are as same meltable and functional in the cold as in warm water. Some materials cannot be washed in a warm water, but you can wash them as well. Towels, socks and underwear you should definitely wash in a warm water.
It is not necessary to dispart clothes before washing
Do not rely yourself on different kind of means and wipes for color absorption because you cloud regret it. Separating clothes is not an old fashion advice, it is very functional advice which exist by a reason. Separate your clothes on white, black and colorful and you will avoid disappointment when you paint your favorite T-shirt.
Clothes can compress by the washing
The fact that some clothes can be compressed by the washing is not that true. Some materials like wool should be washed by a special instructions. Sensitive materials can be compressed by drying them.
Faded jeans are useless
Try to bring back your faded jeans its color by washing them in the washing machine. Wash your old and new jeans together and put in the drum a hand or two full of salt. Part of color from your new jeans could pass on your old jeans.
Few tricks for laundry washing
- Oil from the skin attracts dirt that accumulates the most on the collar shirts. Before you put the shirt in a washing machine lubricate the collar with shampoo.
- In the case of hardcore marks wet your clothes in a warm water with a little bit of detergent and leave it in the night.
- For white laundry to remain white, and black does not get white, turn the clothes upside down and wash it on the lowest temperature which will remove the impurity.
- Hardcore marks like the ones from coffee, ketchup or greasy hands, liquor with shaving cream and leave it about half an hour and then wash it in the washing machine.
- If your washing machine acquired stale and unpleasant smell, put half cup of baking soda into a powder container and put it on the short washing.
According to many studies, it came to a conclusion that the liquid detergent is a better choice for colored laundry than universal powder detergent. Why? Liquid detergent does not contain bleach like universal powder detergents, that is why it helps to contain original color and the laundry looks like new and preserved.
Reasons why many people are avoiding liquid detergents is because they believe that the liquid detergents does not remove stains. Those powders and liquid detergents contain enzymes which remove stains off the laundry.
Also, one of the reasons of not using liquid detergent is belief that the liquid detergent is quicker expendable then powder detergent.
Some people think that the powder is more economic than liquid, but that wrong belief usually arises from wrong dosage. Difference between liquid and powder detergent is big, so it is necessary to carefully follow the instructions for dosage. Many think that dispenser is not necessary because the detergent puts in a draw. That is wrong. Dispenser filled with liquid detergent is necessary to put in a drum of washing machine together with clothes. In that way ingredients for the stain removal contacts directly with clothes and can immediately start with the cleaning process.
They are right who says that the liquid detergent will not leave a white mark. It is true because the liquid detergent is already in a current state and will immediately melt in water and will not leave a white mark on the clothes.
If the white mark from powder detergents stay on your clothes, or if powder detergent coagulates in your washing machine, just reduce the amount of detergent that you put in the washing machine.
